Students will be exposed to the software (including AutoCAD), hardware, and certifications necessary to be successful in the landscape architecture industry. The presenter, with over 16 years’ experience at Urban Arena Architecture & Planning, will explain his career pathway, the importance of finding internships with companies that will allow employees to grow within the industry, and the assortment of industry knowledge specific to landscape architecture including botany, site planning, construction, construction drawings, comprehensive planning, landscape design, and urban design. Too often, managers in the landscape architecture industry are finding that entry level, college educated interns are too far behind the curve in understanding specific software or possessing skill sets necessary to be effective in their roles.
